but my question is will i see the benifits from the more expensive set and if not why my pc will be used for every day use and more am just building myself a extreme pc so i would go for the expensive set as long as the price is worth the extra performance

High end memory is not worth the money in my opinion, better off with some good 1600Mhz memory.

Would look for 2x8gb (16gb) memory kit, instead of 4x4gb, as it gives you the option to add more memory later if you need it.

It depends on what you mean by "an extreme PC".

1600MHz RAM will get you 95%+ of the real world performance of 2400MHz+ RAM.

Have a look at this: Kingston HyperX T1 8GB (2X4GB) 2400Mhz DDR3 review.

The difference between 1600MHz and 2400MHz is hardly noticeable except in the Super Pi benchmark and X264 video encoding and then it's only a few percent.

I'd be looking at this: Samsung Green 16GB (4x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C11 1600MHz 30nm Dual/Quad Channel Kit £89.98

Not too much more expensive than bog standard 1600MHz RAM and usually pretty overclockable so you can get try and get the small benefits from faster RAM and no great loss if it doesn't overclock to giddy heights.

It's also ultra low profile so you aren't going to have to worry whatever CPU cooler you get.

If your going to build an extreme PC go for the X79 platform and if you want to save some money put cheap memory in it.

You will get a far bigger difference between an X79 mobo + i7 3930k + cheap memory compared to what your planning.
