Just bought another GB of RAM taking me up to 2GB (ignore my sig)
I tried to install them last night...
Didn't work :(

Wouldnt boot up - just got a black screen with a little cursor flashing in the top left.
On the front of my computer I saw the 1, 2 and 3 lights on, but not 4, and they didnt go off like normal

I thought that maybe the dimm in slot 4 was causing it, perhaps it wasnt seated properly. So I carefully took it out.
When I tried again Not even a cursor, wouldnt even start booting - just got a nasty sounding alarm bell from inside my PC :o

Took all the new RAM out and started it with just my original 1 GB and its fine...

Any thoughts guys?

Have you overclocked the current RAM at all? I had the same problem where i had my RAM set to 900MHz (is 800 rated) and put in some new 800 to replace it. All i got was beeps, so took out the new stuff, put in the old stuff and set everything to stock values.

When i put the new stuff back in, it booted fine.

2 sticks of 512 MB Crucial DDR2 Dual Channel RAM

It is DEFINATLEY seated properly
whenever I try to turn it on I just get a black screen with a littlw flashing dash in the top left corner

I used the crucial system scanner to select the memory, so it must be compatible - if it is a problem with the RAM then Crucial are gonna get an earful
