Hi.
Just tried installing some more ram and my cpu fell off the scale on 3dmark06???
Bit of an old system, will be upgrading soon....
m/b: asus p5n32 premium
cpu: Intel e6600 2.40Ghz
gpu: Gainward gf7900gs 512mb
ram: corsair twinx 2gb ddr2 6400
p/s: 650w

The ram I added was not identical to the original corsair, (ocz ps2 8500 1 GB) times 2. Would this cause any problems???
Do I need to re-install any drivers after installation?

Complete noob to upgrading and the like, any help appreciated...

Can you provide a bit more information? List ALL the information from both kits of memory. And, what do you mean by "fell off the scale"?

Also, after you added memory, is your CPU still at the same speed as before?

Ok.
Original set of ram: 1 GB Corsair cm2x1024-6400c4; xms6404v1.2; 4-4-4-12; 800 MHz
Second set of ram: 1 GB PN OCZ 2n1066r2gk; pc2 8500; 5-5-5-15; 665.0 MHz
Memory is running at 1.8v
CPU is running at 1.325v/2.3Mhz
When running 3dmark06 with the original ram the system had been scoring around 4264(very low).
With the second set installed the system crashed when 3dmark hit the first CPU test.

Hope this helps...
