Hey i overclocked my i7 to 4.0 to keep this stable on air i made some changes to the ram which solved the issue, i didnt think much of it as it was my first overclock, however after looking at some recent data i ran i had this come up:

is my ram running way under stock? and how would this impact performace, i dont think i can keep 4.0 with ram at its speed, im new to overclocking as i said so any help and explinations would be welcome.

also this is the ram http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MY-167-CS&groupid=701&catid=8&subcat=

thanks for your time

origionally it was fine, i did msot of overclocking with a friend who knew more about it so im not sure what to change now lol, just wondered if there was a quick fix, also will doing that raise temps as im on air and its really hot already.

yeah ill look into it, would its current speed make a big difference in general use to its max speed? just wondered if its worth the effort.

tried changing timings to 9,9,9,24 but no change in the freq am i changing the wrong setting? voltage is at 1.65 already im not sure what else i need to change as the names are different in bios to just 'multiplier' etc: Heres cpu-z readings

Pop into Ai Tweaker in BIOS and adjust the Dram Frequency.
This will vary depending on BLCK settings, so hopefully it should show 1600mhz (it may be under) :)

shows as 1062, however as soon as i load windows, instant blue screen. Any fix ??

edit: it may have been 1602 my bad, ill take not of the numbers and post back tomorrow but when ever it was cranked up from its current speed it blue screened

If does blue screen with the memory running at 1600mhz ~ try putting everything to stock and see how you get on, then if you still get blue screen run mem test on each ram module just to rule out a faulty module.

this mean ill have to loose my cpu overclock also? or just ram settings?

edit: also ram sticks arent faulty its just settings i guess

just wanted to ask, isnt it impossible for it to get to 1600 (its stock speed) as i have a 4.0 cpu clock the BCLK is to high for the ram to select a freq near 1600, its either 1440ish or like 1800-2000 or am i mistaken ?
