Hello all. I built a new rig last night, all but one thing is fine. I got some RAM off my friend, he said said it was 8GB (4x2GB sticks), so I installed Windows 7 Ultimate x64 and only 4GB can be found. The thing is, 8GB should be detectable in the BIOS even if the OS can't use it all, right? Only 4GB is found in the BIOS. I tried each stick one by one and they all show up as 1GB each. Now I have no reason to think this guy is lieing, the RAM did come in 2 seperate packets and had 2GB each written on the box, but if each stick is showing up as 1GB each, with there being 4 sticks and once all are in 4GB is detectable, what other reasons could there be? Can anyone please help me identify what this RAM exactly is and what the specs are? By the way, my motherboard is an ASUS P5Q Deluxe, below is a screenshot of the RAM in CPUZ and a picture of the sticker on the RAM stick, which is the same on all of them.
