RAM issues?

I recently bought a new computer and all was working fine. It's a custom build which has 6GB of RAM installed but for the last week or so in the system properties it says either 6GB (4.00GB usable) or 6GB (5.50GB usable), its really bugging me as to why only a portion of it is usable. I've searched google for a fix but can't seem to come across anything, so I thought i'd try my luck here.

Try reseating the processor, it seems to be a common problem.
