P8z67 v gen3 board
Mushkin Blackline 1833mhz ram c11 1.35v
2600K ( @4.5)

Trying to upgrade 16>32 gb.
This combo will not boot for me with 4 sticks of 8gb in, 3x8 gb is fine, in any possible combination ( slots or modules, to exclude a dud slot or module). Memory is in XMP mode.

Anyone know if SB has a limit on RAM ?

I also have two 3770k's lying around at home, worth trying those for the Ivy memory controller ( though rather not, due to dismantling cooler) ? Or is it some setting or switch on my mainboard ?

According to Intel it supports 32gb RAM. Have you removed your overclock to see if it boots? Could be the CPU mem controller needing a voltage boost.

you need to disable xmp and try all sticks, you might need more vccio/sa voltage

What are safe maxes for sandybridge?

It won't boot with my oc on, and it won't boot at stock/safe (spd instead of xmp) settings.

Like in the openings post, the problem appears when a 4th stick is added, any 3 or 2 sticks are fine in any slots.

OS is not an issue, running win 7 ulti ( and probs upgrading to win10 pro soon, or even a clean install for uefi, not sure what I'll do just yet, first I wanna see if it's possible to convert an upgrade install from MBR to UEFI/GPD), but that's not for today, for now I'll keep using win 7 till at least spring )

safe max is 1.2v for both but you shouldn't need that much

whichever one is at 1.05v by default try with 1.18v, set it first with 3 sticks installed and save/exit add the fourth stick

be sure to be on latest bios aswell, could be poor bios support

if it boots with one ram stick installed in any of the four slots the slots are working fine, test each slot/stick

it should work fine 32gb at stock ram speeds/you might be very limited on running higher ram speeds with that amount

I'll try.

Yes this is fine, if you call my ram A-D, A and B have been working fine for the past year.
C and D I've been using for testing purposes just now, had a session of 30 mins of gta 5 and an hour or so of Fallout 4. No problems so far.

I've also tried various of combo's of 3 sticks to boot. The problem is not the ram, it's the board/combination.

Ok, you guys are right, I was pretty sure I tested the 2 new sticks individually, but I think I mixed them up ( as they all look the same), 1 of my sticks won't boot, the red led near ''ram test'' stays on with it, and it won't boot on its own in any slot :(.

I'll test the module on a different pc.

Btw, VCCIO was already at 1.15 in my oc I noticed, 1.18 had no effect... But, it looks like one of my ram modules is not 100%, will do some more testing soon ( on another board).
