Just upgraded from 2GB (2x1GB) of generic DDR400... timings were 3-3-3-8 (2t). Anyway I've now put in 2GB of G.Skill ZX, running at 2-3-2-5 (1t), and I can't believe the difference it's made.

It's running on an A8N-SLi with an X2 4800+... No o/c. I wasn't expecting it to make much difference, but thought I'd put some decent mem in as the rest of the system was pretty good.

Everything seems soooo much more responsive. Load times have increased quite dramatically. Can't think it was down to anything else, as all I did was pop the G.Skill in, manually adjust the settings, and watch it fly.

I gather that with AMD64 dividers are a good thing... if I was to o/c, then I'd push up the fsb and use a divider to keep the ram with tight timings.

Yeah, I think the 2T was really hampering performance on the generic RAM.
