Hi,
I have just received my new laptop which has only come with 4gb RAM in a single stick. The rest of the hardware is fine and I deliberately selected this one off the shelf as I knew I could easily add another stick to bring it up to 8gb. I think this will allow it to keep up for at least a few years. Is this correct?
My main question is does the second stick need to exactly match the first stick? I checked and the stick already in there is:
HMT451S6AFR8A-PBN0
Hynix SK
This doesn't seem that easy to find in the UK annoyingly. Can I just get a DDR3 4gb stick from another producer or does it have to be an exact replica?
Thanks in advance!
