I'm wondering if anyone can help me.

I have this RAM.
Kingston HyperX Genesis Grey 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (KHX1600C9D3X2K2/8GX)

And this motherboard.

About a year ago I started having boot problems, the computer would power on, the fans would run for about 2-3secs and then it would restart, this would loop.

Removing one stick, or swapping them would normally fix this problem.

Well the past year i've had to stick with only 4gb RAM. Under no circumstances would my computer boot with 2 sticks of RAM in.

I decided to purchase 1 single sided 8gb stick, this worked for about 3 months, then one morning I woke up and my computer was beeping.
It would beep 10+ times and then restart, this would loop indefinitely.
Swapping slots sometimes fixed this problem, but now, my computer won't have that stick at all.

I found the only time my computer will run, is if I have the one Kingston 4gb RAM stick (either one they both work) in slot 3 or 4. As soon as I introduce another stick, it goes back to reboot every 3 seconds.

Now i've reset the CMOS (taken the battery out, even changed it).
I've altered timings, voltages etc and still nothing.

One time I left my computer off overnight with the 8gb single sided RAM in, and it booted up in the morning, but as soon as I restarted it reverted back to beeping.
I did this again another day and on boot up checked the BIOS, saved the settings to CMOS. But on restarting it kept beeping again.

I'm completely puzzled.

How longs the warranty with Gigabyte? will they have returns without a receipt?

Yes, they go by serial number.

You can check the warranty here: http://ggcs.gigabyte.com/service/CheckWarrantyStatus_IN.aspx

Ignore the india part, its still valid here.

After that you can email them here: http://uk.gigabyte.com/support-downloads/customer-service.aspx?ck=3

Just make sure you tell them it is an intermittent problem, they replaced my board fine, it took about a week.

But I had already replaced it with an MSI board and so I sold the replacement, I never heard back from the guy I sold it to so it must have been OK.

Well, I finally got around to taking my motherboard out, and it was indeed on the other side.
I typed the details in and it is still under warranty.

Cheers, you have been a great help.
