RAM not detecting properly no more :( (4GB to 2GB?)

Hello

I've had my system for around 2/3 years now, quite happily running with 4GB of ram (2 x 2GB DDR 400 sticks)...then, I moved house a couple of weeks ago, and just realised both sticks are infact running at 1GB?? How is this possible?

Now, what can I do? I've checked the settings in the bios and everything is normal / set to auto so nothing has theoretically changed...

I'm just lost at the moment and do not have my thinking cap on

Any ideas anyone? This ones baffled me a tad

i know this sounds odd, but are you sure you had 4gb?

ddr1 has a physical limit of 1gb per module, so theres no way you could have a 2gb stick...

No it doesn't....DDR1 goes upto 2GB sticks, hell you can get 4GB sticks regarding server memory.

I have an Asus A8nsli board, and it has been running 4GB fine for well over two years now.

Delvis are you sure its seeing both sticks as 1gb and not one as 2gb and the other is not recognized?
