Ram on this board?

Hi guys.

I have a Gigabyte G1.Sniper (rev. 1.0) http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=3760#ov

I was just wondering if this is the right ram! as the book says to get Dual Channel to work, you use Slot 1 and slot 3. (the green slots) when i place 1 stick into slot 1. (the first green colour slot nearest to the cpu) the pc at times comes on with no screen, or comes on but turns it self on and off. the other slots are fine! i tired both rams but still happend! surley cant be the ram?
What could be the reason for this?

Thats an X58 chipset board mate you need a triple channel kit to get the best out of it.

The ram should work fine, but you would need to check the manual to ensure the correct slots are used.

You will need to pop into the BIOS and manually setup the timings & speed.
