Hi guys, quick question, any worth in overclocking ram? how do ya go about it? spec in sig, i tried briefly the other day to whack my 1866 upto 2133, but didnt post and i had to clear CMOS, so i gave up instantly, lol.
This was with timings set manually, as per XMP (but not using as XMP).

when overclocking Ram you will usually find you will have to raise it's voltage (make sure to take note of safe maximums on your platform!). You might find it easier to tighten your existing timings than up your speed though. Have a play, don't let one failure deter you!

overclocking ram these days is almost pointless as the performance gain that you get out of it is negligible.

you would be best tightening the timing

Timings currently 9,10,9,9,28 if memory serves. What would be worth trying?
Voltage set to 1.5, on auto it was up at 1.67!!

Before I bought the hardware, I read that since max ram (without OC) is 1600, the higher you go the less gain, which is why I cheaped out and went for the 1866 kit
