ram + pc = kurput

hi my uncle just brought some new ram for his pc 2x 2gb kingston ones and he put them in his pc and it doesnt seem to work with all 4 it just seems to not boot and then when he has 1 in it lasts about half an hour then he gets the blue screen of death. any ideas?

What is the spec of the rest of the PC? Is the ram running at the correct frequency/timings/voltage, also if running 4GB you need to up the voltage to the MCH/NB in the bios by a couple of notches.
