RAM preventing me from getting further?

Am running the following setup :

GA965P-DS3P
E6300
2GB F2-6400cl4D GSkill

So far I've reached FSB of 475, with VDIMM of 2.2V and VCORE of 1.55V, runs prime stable, although does get near to 70c.

I can't seem to get to 480 (or higher

) - do you think my memory is the limiting factor here?

TBH you're probably reaching the limits of the P965 chipset

Have you slackened off the timings on the RAM?

I've had to slacken timings to 5-5-5-13 from 4-4-4-12

I have noticed, the HS on NB is pretty damn hot , if this might have something to do with it :confused:

Could be, I've got the same mobo as you, mines a rev2.0 and I've slapped a 40mm fan on the NB as without it it gets mighty toasty. Max FSB I've had my board up to is 450.

I relaxed timings to 6-6-6-14 and now booting and runs Crysis benchmark without a problem, so I'm pretty sure its the memory holding me back ! I don't really want to put any more voltage through, as its already on 2.2V

I've managed to get it to FSB of 490, boots into windows but as soon as I start 100% load on TAT, locks up

Should the FSB and MCH overvoltage settings play a part in stability when the FSB is this high?

I think I've reached the limit for my chip tbh, now just need to get it stable
