Hello all. Will ram prices be dropping in the immediate future?

I am currently in the process of pay £250 for 2x2gb DDR2 800 5-5-5-18.

Will be shoot down anytime soon?

OCZ ram

i doubt prices will be dropping anytime soon, i mean just look at how low they are already?

in regards to 2 gig modules, i would not expect any or much of a drop.

personally i don't see why you would need more than 4gigs of ram, unless you require it specifically. So 2x2 vs 1x4 comes down to preference and overclocking the ram. I would imagine 2x2 would be easier to overclock stable at the very limits of the ram, as apposed so 1x4. But having said that it is not impossible to get very good OC on the ram with 1x4 and have seen some with good OC with such configuration. Would also wait and see what others have to say on this matter. AMD systems did not like running more than 2 sticks of ram before, but intel platform currently does not have such limits.

and your signature is too long, i believe is 4 lines maximum. look in the sticky for guidance.

You can get 2Gb sticks of Patriot PC6400 for £90 Incl. delivery in the UK at the moment. That's 4Gb at 1T for £180 all-in.

It'll be maybe a year before DDR3 makes an impact.

Everyone's working flat-out on DDR2 production now and there's plenty of it available. Hence the low prices.

Do you not research everything you buy even slightly?

Dont be nasty :(

My pentium 4 has done me nicely. It has never given me any trouble at all. It runs everything I want. :D

Still going to upgrade to quad core.

The only reason im getting rid of this chip is that it used to get me 1900 in 3DMark06 cpu score. Cant get it above 1300 on same clocks.

I bet its this Zalman 9700 Aero.

P.s Im lapping my CPU today look out for the review

i purchased some crucial ballistix ram and the next day price dropped by £35 i was gutted and thats this week.

well im more than gutted lol im peed off.

so manufacturers must be dropping prices

Well, look on the bright side - you could have shelled out £215+delivery for some Crucial Anniversary RAM at Christmas that I'm currently informed is worth about £100, or possibly even less

Aye! I sold mine for £170 about a month ago. :p

Trouble is I bought some Crucial 2GB Ballistix Tracer (with LEDs), DDR2 PC2-8000 (2x1GB) 5-5-5-15 but in reality it does 4-4-4-12 @ 500mhz :p

Anyway it was listed at around £350ish a month or 2 ago & now you can buy it new for £190, mine only cost £175 2 month ago though, I'm gonna sell mine & get 2 x 2gb of Patriot I think depending on how well they overclock.

I bought crucial pc6400 ballistix for £112 +£7 del. It looked like a bargin 2 weeks ago when others were almost £150+del. At least I didnt pay £150. I dont have a cpu or board yet so its just sitting unused atm.

Aye same here now, I sold my Abit AB9 QuadGT on the impending release of the DFI P965-S Dark Infinity, I really hope I dont regret it that Abit board is the best board i've ever used.
