ram prices

I was thinking that myself, anyone remember 8GB RAM for £40? of course you do, it wasn't that long ago!

What, are they jacking the prices up so they can charge even more for DRR4 to profiteer on it? DRR3 is already up to £70/£80 minimum, how much more for 8GB of RAM. £100+? £120+?.... £160????

There comes a point where things become priced so expensive no one upgrades anything anymore, they just end up exacerbating an already declining PC industry, making it even more exclusive.

This is not the way to help keep the industry you operate in alive. it's suicide.

You always see this trend when each generation of ram gets towards it's eol. Ive paid as little as 40 quid and as much as 90 for different 8gb ddr3 kits ive owned recently.

sounds normal to me, paid £72 for 8gb of 2133mhz ram, although if you want it uber cheap im sure you can get some 1333 stuff on the bay for peanuts.

God, you love a conspiracy lmao.
When more and more factories start ditching DDR3 production for DDR4, what happens? DDR3 stocks go down, depending on the demand that sets the price.

DDR2 vs DDR3 anyone?

Ram prices have gone up a bit yes, but in the grand scheme of things it's not massively expensive. 80 quid ono will nab a decent 2400mhz 8gb kit with good timings. I can remember on x58 paying £160.00 for a 6gb ocz reaper tri channel kit.

I know this, you know this.
Others however, seem to think it's a disgrace how 'expensive' ram has become from its low point last year.

DDR4 is one of the reasons we'll also never see that low ever again. Don't see me crying though, wont be long till i've moved over :p
