Ram problem?

Received 4gig of new Corsair ram today. Put it in my Motherboard which has 2 ram slots and keep getting blue screen of death!!!

When one ram stick is put in all is fine so i take it my mobo doesn't like

A. The ram

B. 2 Sticks of ram

What should i do guys?

Mobo is an AM2 Gigabyte one.

Ram is: TwinX 4g PC6400C5

Does your motherboard support 4gb of memory?

It's probably your mobo...especially as it only has 2 dimms!

Motherboard supports 8g of ram.

Yea, it has 2 dimms. Worked fine with one stick but not 2!!

If i bought another make would i have the same problem?

Do both sticks work on their own or just one? When does it BSOD? Can you get into Windows? Can you run memtest?

Yes, both work fine on their own. It BSOD when in wondows, just. Can't run memtest.

So, not sure what to do now as i wanted to run 4 gig ram. I have Vista 64bit running too!

Do i change the ram for a different make or change the motherboard? Are 2 Dimm ones more problematic than 4 Dimm boards?

Update:

Changed the ram for some Kingston Hyper PC2-6400 4GB and works a treat now!!! Must have been the Corsair ram!!

glad to hear you solved it. i always use kingston ram, imo they have best value to price ratio
