i just bought some of this ram -
corsair xms2 (2x2gb) pc8500. it has an advertised speed of 1066mhz and timings of 5-6-6-18.
problem is when i configure it to those settings in bios my pc wont even boot up. when i reduced the speed to 1030mhz it boots up but i get blue screens of death.
ive now reduced the speed to 900mhz and the problems seem to have disappeared.
to the matter of my pc not booting up, is this because the ram voltage isnt high enough? and why do i get crashes at the speed i mentioned above?
ive already had the ram replaced so it defo cant be faulty ram. if i keep the ram at a stable speed of 900mhz am i losin out on much performance as opposed to 1066mhz? im just a bit annoyed that it wont boot up with the advertised speed.
