Hi all
I have been trying to upgrade my ram .
Here is my specs-
MB- gigabyte EP45T-DS3R
64 BIT 7 ULTIMATE
CPU-intel quad core q9950 2.8 ghz
RAM-corsair xms 3 ddr3- 4 gig 2x2gig sticks

This is my current problem
I purchased a 3 pack of the same ram as above (matched)
3x2gig sticks.
My current ram is running in the two green slots.
So i put 2 of my new ram in the pink\red slots .
Thinking this would show up when i turned it back on .
When i did nothing showed up ,only my existing 4 gig .
Is there something i should have done ?
I have searched afar, and can not find much info ,only that there is a problem with
this mobo not being able to use four sticks of ram
I thought it would just show up as it is the same ram .
As i am new to this ,your help would be appreciated !!
Cheers from Tasmania

Is your ram seated correctly i.e. do did you hear and see the clips snap back into place? also you could try clearing cmos take out you mobo battery for 5 mins and put it back in if that doesnt work (ull know if it does because time and ate will revert back to the boards date of manufacture not when you first set it up) you will have to locate your clear cmos jumpers and get the small tool to short them. also have you updated the bios via recommended methods?

As trickynickyuk & scotsdragon said make sure that you have the latest bios as well as the ram are fited correctly. If still this issue continues, then replace the new rams to the existing rams slots just to check if they work properly. If its fine, then set them to the other 2 slots to make sure that they will still work. If not then, your issue is your slots
