RAM Problem

I have 2 Corsair Modules. 2 x 8GB They once worked in my machine.

The mobo I am using is the AsRock Z97 Extreme 6.

The BIOS now only recognises one 8 gig module in the first slot.

If I try and boot with a single module, the one currently working in module 1, it appears to boot but the screen wont come on?

Has anyone got any suggestions as to what I should try?

Thanks

OK so Ive tried to express the issue more clearly. I have checked each slot and module and nothing is visible

My computer (confirmed in BIOS) has started only recognising one of my RAM modules. Normally I have 2 x 8gb of corsair in slots 1 and 3. Now it only recognises slot 1. This is the only set up that works. In attempting to diagnose the problem I can confirm as follows:

1 & 3 - This will boot and windows will work and everything is functional, except BIOS only shows 8 gig installed and not 16, and the 8 gig is in slot 1. Also works with the ram modules swapped. This confirms to me that both RAM modules are fine.
Only 1 - Boots, error 53, no screen
Only 2 - Boots, error 53, no screen
Only 3 - No boot
Only 4 - No boot
1 & 2 - Boots, error 53, no screen
2 & 3 - No boot
3 & 4 - No boot

What is going on?

Thanks

Run memtest 86 for each stick for a night, might be your ram sticks are faulty.

You could test them individually in each slot, 1 at the time. If it recognises both in slot 1 but none in any of the other slots or only half or so, then the issue most likely lies with your mobo
