hi guys
so i am having problems with my ram. i have had my corsair vengance rgb pro 3200mhz since 2019 with no problems.
a month or so ago i stupidly updated my bios and started to get BSOD problems which after a while i figured out it was my ram causing them.
so i changed out my corsair ram for some 3000mhz T-force vulcan that i had before i purchased the corsair and had no blue screens.
i made a warranty claim with corsair and they sent me new ones out and now i am getting blue screens again with them installed, but only with xmp turned on.
anyone have any idea why this could be happening.

I had similar issues with my 2700X. First and second gen Ryzen could be a bit of a pig when it comes to RAM...

3200 was problematic for my chip, it would work with very precise tuning, but was unstable and not exactly reliable. I ended up at 2933 instead- and eventually this became unstable, and in the end I could only run stock 2400. This is mainly why I upgraded to the 5800X...

There's a couple of things you could try. Firstly, with XMP/DOCP enabled, set the memory voltage a little higher than the 1.35v baseline- say 1.37 or 1.38, your SoC voltage to 1.1v, and find your power settings in the BIOS, and enable LLC (load line calibration) on both CPU and SoC.
This will give the CPU a bit more of a fighting chance at a speed that is, truthfully, on the edge of what 2nd gen Ryzen can handle.

You may also get some luck using manual setup, with numbers from the Ryzen DRAM Calculator program. I'd try the 'safe' settings first. It may also be possible to rewind the BIOS, but usually BIOS updates help with RAM stability, not make it worse... :(

Thanks for the reply, il give this a go, my ddr voltage is greyed out and stayes grey when i enable manual, only voltage i can change is dram voltage. If this dot work i may just run it on stock speed untill i get a new cpu which im hopefully getting soon

DRAM voltage is the one, then. With XMP enabled, it should read 1.35v... Or I think 1.2v if XMP is off.

If you go new CPU route, I can heartily recommend the 5800X or the X3D. Mine was a massive upgrade. Hold out a while though, the new series launches soon, may be some good prices on the 5000 series

Upped the voltage to 1.38 and lowered speed to 3133mhz and had no problems so far all seems good, yes i am waiting for any deals or proce drops on either the 5700x or 5800x, as my 2600 is obviously bottlenecking my gpu
