Ive just upgraded from 1gb of RAM to 4gb of RAM on my laptop.

I know XP only uses 3.5gb of RAM as its max but im not even seeing that (see mem test pic below).
The max spec RAM the laptop can use is DDR2 RAM (533 MHz)
Ive put in 4gb of DDR2 667. The laptop should scale it down.

I have 128 intergrated graphics, it has HyperMemory up to 256MB. Would this be the reason for the lower RAM amount?

Something that i find odd is that when i run dxdiag it shows that the graphics has 512meg, ive no idea why it says this, when i run the 3dmark05 stats it says 138 meg:confused:

Please have a look at the photo below and tell me if its all good.

You must have 32-bit windows XP.
Only around 3Gb will be recognised.
You will have to upgrade to 64-bit XP or 64-bit vista to get 4Gb of RAM

It is showing this ammount in the BIOS/memtest86+ so the OS is irrelevant. Try using memory re-map if available. And your sig is too big, read the FAQ :)

Cant find anything to re-map the memory in BIOS, is there any other way? BIOS is very limited.

Its says 4096MB of RAM in BIOS. In dxdiag it says 3070mb.

if you run sisoft sandra what does it say? http://www.benchmarkhq.ru/english.html?/sandradl_e.html for free version

I used this but not sure which reading to ggive you, some say 4gb some say 3gb.
