recently bought 4 gig of OCZ 4GB 8500 2x2 gig sticks to go in GIGABYTE P31DSL motherboard.
When both sticks are installed the pc refuses to boot up and will only boot up with 1, 2 gig stick.
i have contacted ocuk support who have said the following

"Have you tried setting up the memory timings and voltages before inserting the 2nd stick of RAM? OCZ memory is renowned for not POSTing correclty until these are setup"

I am not sure of which settings to alter and what i need to change them to
Has anybody got the same p31 board running 4 gig of ram,i know it's maybe a long shot, but i`m really stuck

It maybe a case of upping your NB voltage also. In addition, try manually entering the RAM timings and setting tRFC to a value of been 42-54. Some systems just seem to hate 4Gb RAM.

Have you checked in case there is a BIOS update?

Hi
I have the latest bios, have tried those things that you suggested mate, but still no luck
I will contact them again tm,as one of the sticks must be faulty
Cheers anyway
