Hiya, a friend at work has just bought a pc which has a single stick of Crucial Ballistix DDR 4 2400,
can he just add another single stick of 8GB (same type ram), & then switch it to dual channel ?

Not sure of motherboard type, he only got it yesterday but says it has 2 ram slots.

I've asked him to send me a pic of the sticker on the ram, which he'll do later tonight.

Many thnx in advance :)

Dual Channel is just an extra boost the motherboard gets from 2 sticks of RAM being the same sort. To get this you need to make sure both sticks are identical and put them both into RAM channel A or B if you have 4 RAM sockets, the Motherboard manual will tell you this information.

However the boost isn't really noticeable these days with how fast hardware is getting.
