RAM question

Hi guys,

Wasnt sure if this was more of a motherboard question lol,

but if I have a mobo with 4 RAM slots (ddr3), and buy one of those triple channel kits, would I encounter any problems using three sticks of 2gb on a dual channel board? Or would it be better to just use two sticks?

I'm not very good at wording it, but hopefully you get what I mean..

It would probably work, but would only run in single channel mode.

Yeah I knew that.. mainly just wondering if it would be causing any significant performance hits with three sticks compared to just two sticks in dual channel.

I could just use two sticks if its better, though I'd be getting a tripple channel pack for i7 in the future when its cheapo
