Hi , I'm relatively new to custom build PC's but have decided to build a holy mother of machines piece by piece as a project.
I am just a little confused about the terms used to describe memory i.e bus speed , memory timings etc.
I'm finding it difficult knowing compatibility issues between motherboard and memory. I know motherboards have to have a dedicated type of RAM whether it be DDR2 or whatever but is the speed of the RAM also motherboard sensitive or down to personal requirements or preference ?
I would be very grateful if someone could give me a quick briefing in RAM/Motherboard compatibility and performance or maybe direct me to a page that explains it simply.
