ram question

So I have asus z68 mobo and currently I have 8GB and some of you may say not to upgrade any higher but I currently have 2x4GB kingston hyperx 1600mhz in dual channel and I have 4 slots, so if I was to add another 2 sticks of the same make would I lose the dual channel benefit or wouldn't it matter since I have 16gb of ram or would I get improved performance because there would be 2x dual channel memory?

You'll be no better or worse off for performance.

You'll just have more RAM, 16GB operating in dual channel mode.

Not 2 x dual channel mode.
