RAM Question

Hi

Looking to upgrade the RAM on a server I've got.

Question is: The RAM that came out of the server was PC2-6400E. Will it matter whether I purchase PC2-6400E, PC2-6400U, PC2-6400, etc?

It's always best to get matching RAM. Do note that Crucial's memory detector cannot differentiate between ECC and non-ECC RAM.

For example, I've just found some PC2-6400 RAM somewhere, however the modules I took out of the server were PC2-6400E. Will that make a difference?

I've had no success telling. Some motherboards are particularly sensitive.
