Hi everyone,

I bought a system which has 32GB 2400mhz ddr4 ram in it (4 x 8), I've seen that a lot of people are recommending 3200mhz ram as the sweet spot for Ryzen 1800x?

Would you recommend this?

Motherboard is: https://www.overclockers.co.uk/asus...-ddr4-atx-motherboard-mb-69f-as.html#comments

Also, the comments on the OCUK reviews are a bit worrying, particularly about the RAM? One person is saying 1 chip of 16gb is optimal?!?!

Any help appreciated.

I have the 8pack dimms but the 3600 ones, board is asus crosshair vi hero.

From memory I am running at 1.32v 3.9Ghz 3200Mhz or something similar.

I think the 8pack are TeamGroup as well, I run my core slightly slower than yours and my DRAM boot V is around 1.45 and DRAM V 1.4 from memory.

What BIOS release are you running?

My settings sound similar volt wise, I think my bios is the latest - I have tried a lot of them and haven't really experienced much difference. I still have the cold boot issue every so often too.

Very sensible, I think I was most stable on one of the originals. Maybe i'll have another play, but i'm not too fussed with how it is now.

8 pack 3200, when I had 16GB they ran at 3333c14 or 3466c15, now on 32GB I leave them on 3200c14 with 1.4v , 1.13v soc and 1.25v vcore.

Results vary on IMC and motherboard as well as the RAM you choose.

Do you think there will be much improvement over my 32GB 2400mhz Kingston hyperx ram? Its 4 x 8gb chips. I did see a few youtube videos saying 3200mhz is around 5-10% faster, but not sure if its the same at 32gb.

Can't see why the amount of ram would yield any less performance gains. Mean't to be a nice increase but you'll need to weigh the cost. Maybe waiting for zen2 the money would be better spent there..
