I'm putting together an i9-9900k build with an Asus Hero XI Z390 board - I'm currently using the following 32GB kit that I've had for a few years:

32GB (2x16GB) Corsair DDR4 Vengeance LPX Red, PC4-19200 (2400), Non-ECC Unbuffered, CAS 14-16-16-31, XMP 2.0, 1.2V

Will there be much benefit to upgrading to a faster kit, say a 3000 or 3200 at CL14/CL15 ? Not really looking to push the RAM much past its XMP spec as stability is my preference most of the time. So trying to figure out if a jump to 3000/3200 Mhz from 2400 will be noticeable.

Have you already bought the board ?

I personally would just reuse that 32GB kit. You can always overclock it.

Yeah, I've got the board and CPU so going to complete my build this weekend hopefully - going to initially re-use the 32GB kit - it was more a question of whether I'd notice a difference in general system responsiveness/performance with some faster RAM so I could keep an eye out for something suitable in the Black Friday sales.

The memory kits with the tighter cas timings like 14-14-14 are not much use if your motherboard manufacturer memory training at boot up is not up to scratch and if it is unless you are into high score benching still not worth the upgrade or money.

For the average user / gamer the best value kit going at this point in time is what ocuk have on offer https://www.overclockers.co.uk/team...al-channel-kit-grey-tlgd416g30-my-087-tg.html

Hi,

I would recommend a 4 DIMM kit for the Hero due to the motherboards T-Topology DIMM layout. 4 DIMM overclocking is going to be a better experience if looking to push things further. I'd recommend GSKILL or T-Force. 3200-3600MHz or under if looking for plug and play compatibility with XMP profile I.
