Hi,
I was looking at CPU-Z and it says my RAM's max bandwidth is PC2-5300, however my I bought:

OCZ 2GB (2x1GB) PC2-8500C5 1066MHz Reaper HPC Edition Dual Channel DDR2 (OCZ2RPR10662GK)

So why is CPU-Z saying that its PC2-5300? Am I misunderstanding somthing, or is it normal or what? Motherboard is asus P5Q

Thanks, sorry if its a noobie question, I am one =[

You shouldnt really worry about what CPUz says tbh. Just worry about what the RAM can actually do :D.

It could easily be reading it wrong.

This is presuming your running that RAM at its default speeds and not 333(5300).

Well I assume its running at default speeds, I haven't changed it or anything.

Is there another way I can find out what its running at?

Ty for response

Depending on the RAM multiplier and CPU settings you are running, your RAM could indeed be running at PC5300 speeds. A lot of RAM has the SPD set to run at PC5300 CAS5 to make sure it boots up OK. Then you manually have to change the settings to whatever it is supposed to run at.

It's a pain the backside, but it makes sure your board will boot up.

+1 your DDR2 speed is rated well above the Jedec standard and would not post at default voltages at its rated speed. You need to go into you bios and manually change the voltage to the rated spec of your memory (probably 2.1v but check the stick or the internet). Then manually set the memory speed and check the timings
