Hi guys, first post, (hopefully the first of many) and i need some help.

Back in february i built a sandybridge system, 4 months later the mobo fails, i chalk this up to the fact that mines was shipped the day before they were recalled and i just tried my luck (foolish, it seems in hindsight) so i got a new mobo 2 weeks ago, the ASUS p8z68-v pro, but the mobo isnt the problem, now the RAM seems to have failed, the only LED on the mobo thats lit up is the memory LED, theres no output to my monitor so i cant see the BIOS or anything, i took a video earlier and uploaded to youtube, ill give you the link:

the memory is Kingston Hyper X 4GB (2x2GB) Limited Edition (green)

any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks :)

More likely to be the memory controller if it doesn't work with either stick, it'd be extremely unlikely to have 2 dead modules. Try reseating your processor. Also, if you have a heating that uses a lot of pressure to mount, loosen it a little as too much pressure can cause bad contact between the CPU and socket which often causes memory related issues.

what colour is the LED?

im having similar issues issue mate, tried all ram channels/ reseated cpu, think it might be my mobo thats gone.

i can get into bios, might try updating that.

@Cap'n unlikley, it would appear you were correct in thinking the CPU's memory controller was the fault, i reseated the CPU and cooler but my new RAM didn't work, its just showing the same LED as before, so im sending the CPU back, thanks for your replies
