hey guys,

Just put together my new system, and been setting it all up in the bios, set the ram to ddr2 800mhz but for some strange reason when i boot into windows Cpuz thinks im using a divider???? any ideas why this would be? (the bios in my old abit an8 used to be much friendlier)

Hi, yes i have set it to those settings, it shows its running at the right frequency in cpu z but i was just curious as to why it thinks its on a divider when it set at the correct freq?

i have the latest bios too.

what sort of temps does your board say your cpu is aswell? ive read the p5b is renowned for displaying the wrong cpu temp cause mine is 47 idle and 53 full load.? not convinced thats right.

To be honest I'm not overclocking it at the moment and don't feel the need to as it's more than fast enough for me for now.

Everything is so responsive in Windows compared to my old setup. Windows boots up in about 30 secs!

If your C2D is running at 1066Mhz (266 quad pumped) and your mem is at 800MHz (400Mhz DDR2), then they arent running at the same frequency so a divider is needed.
What i did to get 1:1 was to up the FSB to 400 and reduce the CPU multiplier to 8, then set the memory frequency back to DDR2-800Mhz, gave 3.2Ghz from CPU.
