Hi guys,
I have just bought 512mb of RAM for my comp, its the,

GeIL 512MB (2x256MB) PC3200 Value Dual Channel Kit CAS2.5 (GE5123200BHDC) (MY-004-GL)

(top in the GeIl Value section)

I have bought it as a cheap upgrade but when i have opened my PC to fit it i noticed that my MOBO has 4 slots for RAM, 2 blue slots and 2 orange. My MOBO is the Gigabyte GA-7N400 Pro2 and as i dont really know much about comp's im not sure if it matters what slots i plug it into, if some1 can help me out it will be much appreciated.
Thanks again matt

Hey thanks for the quick reply. The thing is that i already have one slot of the orange, the first slot, taken up by 1 stick of 512 RAM which was in there originally and i have just bought 512 RAM in 2 slots, 2x256 so does this mean i fill the next orange slot and then one blue or i miss the other orange slot and fill both the blue slots?

Thanks

Hi i have just slotted the 2 pieces of RAM into the 2 blue slots leaving the other orange one spare. I now have a small yellow LED light on next to the RAM slots which i dont believe was on before. Any ideas why this has come on? Also when i go to Control Panel then System it says that i am running 768MB of RAM. Does this mean that only 1 piece of the newly installed RAM is being found?

Thanks matt

Edit: I tried another combonation on the RAM, simply plugging it in Slots 1, 2 and 3 and this seems to have resolved the problem :)
