I have been reading various bits and bobs regarding higher ram speeds and haswell chips and wondered if someone could clarify for me, I intend to upgrade my ram (simply because its the wrong colour for my new build, yeah I know:P)

Well I've been looking and is it worth me going for something a bit faster, around the 2133 - 2400mhz mark or just stick with 1600mhz? I hear haswell likes the extra mhz but it can affect your overclock, can anyone help out a haswell noob. I dont intend to OC the ram if thats any help, just run it at its xmp. :)

"For discrete GPU users, recommending any kit over another is a tough call. In light of daily workloads, a good DDR3-1866 C9 MHz kit will hit the curve on the right spot to remain cost effective. Users with a few extra dollars in their back pocket might look towards 2133 C9/2400 C10, which moves a little up the curve and has the potential should a game come out that is heavily memory dependent. Ultimately the same advice also applies to multi-GPU users as well as IGP: avoid 1600 MHz and below."

Overclocking ram on Haswell/Z87 is extremely easy. I took no time at all to get my Sammy greens (4x 4GB sticks) running at 2133mhz with timings of 9-10-10-21 1T. It also didn't affect my overclock as i originally clocked it with only 2 of the sticks installed at 1600mhz.
