RAM speeds (noob question)

I bought a pair of 1GB Geil PC6400 sticks while they were on the cheap quite a while ago. I got performance parts for my first overclock. Naturally, im a noob to overclocking and parts like this in general, so could somebody explain to me why when I look in CPU-Z under SPD or Memory it rates my RAM as PC-5300 (333.3mhz)? Please tell me this is normal!

[Edit] I just read its a sort of auto failsafe, is that correct? Interesting, im learning...

Yeah it's a failsafe. Makes it more compatible out of the box. It should run at 800Mhz @ 4-4-4-12 at 2.1v with a little tweaking of the BIOS.
