Any suggestions for a program or two that will test up to a full 12GB? Just slammed in an extra 6GB in my rig and need to make sure it's all being tested. Prime95 only seems to test up to 3GB for some reason and memtest is a bit of a faff.

cheers,

Memtest is what I would use personally. Other than that there's a memory diagnostic utility on the Windows 7 disk you can boot from and run.

the windows one seemed to work just fine. and no errors, which is nice :) memtest was throwing up a few errors but then i was ragging the machine with other stuff while testing, which might be why.

i think i'll run a big overnight memtest and see what happens.

cheers :)

Hello,
I'm still seeing RAM test fall short. Here's MY TEST. I see if the motherboard BIOS is current and that the RAM is on the support list. If not I know I'm into a reading of the memory PDF specifications and comparing that to the motherboard chip timing. I don't do this for you!

Another test I do is use the latest BIOS, the default settings and ONE STICK OF RAM.

If that works I try the next stick.

Worth noting is a few recent encounters with Windows 7 "Activators." Those created such failures and the owners were livid about that finding.

obvious spam biz post is obvious...

nicely disguised though to be honest. quite cunning!

What a load of old cobblers! For starters such activators are illegal and in any case what have they got to do with mothermachine testing his additional RAM? :o
