I,ve just finished o-clocking my new i7 930 build and have it happily passing IBT at 4.2Ghz. I had to turn off hyperthreading but I think thats a small price to pay.

I have Corsair Dominator 6gb tri channel 1600Mhz ram fitted which should be 8-8-8-24 but for some reason the mobo has set it at 9-9-9-24 since I've overclocked things. Is this difference in ram timings noticeable in the real world? or is it back to try and tweak that tighter too now?

Cheers

Set the ram to the rated speeds but I will never try to overclock ram or set it at tighter timings as this can easily result in random bsods.

In the real world, ram timings make no difference worth considering, but if your ram is specified to run at 8-8-8-24 @ 1600mhz then by all means run it at that:).
