RAM timings ,speeds ?

How much of a difference will 1600mhz ram make to a 2133 ram and also what sort of a difference do memory timing make ?

This shows the difference between various ram speeds on Intel Haswell cpu's with a single gfx card.

Bottom line - not really worth worrying about unless you are chasing benchmark records.

No idea if AMD cpu's are any different.

Oh ok thanks but what do the 7,8,9 etc. are on the benchmarks ?
are they just the order that they were in or ?

Generally just go for 1600 C9, 1866 C9, 2133 C10 or 2400 C11. Anything with better latencies (i.e. lower number) than that for no extra cost is fine. I'd avoid higher latencies (especially 1600 C11).

Some people like to feel their system is better with faster memory, but as above, you'd find it difficult to produce any benchmarks that showed any real benefits except in cherry picked cases.
