RAM timings, voltage etc settings.

motherboards will default the memory to whatever there speed is, 1.8v and value rated timings for that speed, you manually have to set the timings and voltage

On the gigabyte DS3R it does default to 1.8v, so you have to select +1/+2 to put it in line. To change the timings on it you have to press "ctrl+F1" when first in the bios, otherwise it wont let you change RAM settings.

Would I have to manually set the ram timings ?
The settings it automatically sets it to will work...but they won't be the optimal, for example my ram on auto runs at something like 5.4.3.24 timings, which is daft, but still works.

So basically...yes :)
