hi there, my m8 last year upgraded my memory from twimmos pc3200 512 to this corsair memory.

Now i remember him saying about tighting the ram timings, and thats why old memory wont work, but new will.

The new corsair memory is following:-

Corsair cmx512-4400 550mhz @ 2.5-4-4-8

Now im bit lost of what settings i have to change in the bios, can anyone help unless i can find my old m8 to ring.

I cant remember what my old settings were.

This is why i worked out my pc doesnt startup because of the memory.

This is just an example of a bios but should be similar, the setting are unsually in advanced options.

CAS Latency 2.5
DRAM RAS TO CAS DELAY 4
DRAM RAS PRECHARGE 4
PRECHARGE DELAY 8

These are the settings you should be most intereseted in and in your case how to set the correct timings for your memory. Be carfeull though as tightening them to much and your system will not boot and you will have to clear the bios.

Your system will be trying to run this new ram at the same latencies as the old stuff, which it wont be capable of doing.

IS anything clocked? That ram is built for bandwith, not latencies
