OK I've gotta be a part of these ULTRA low prices on AMD's 939 range. So have decided to build a rig that will handle most games unti I go Conroe later this year, I'm gona get this:

-E3 3000+ Venice
-DFI Lanparty Ultra-D
-RAM Ballistix??
-Hiper 580 modular

I am going to sell my Corsair XMS2 kit so what RAM should I get for about 60-75. What are the ballistix kits like?

Have you considered going for a Pentium? As they were part of the price cuts too. You could even get a cheap board (like the Asrock Conroe945G-DVI at £52.82 inc VAT) that would support Core 2 Duo for when you upgrade later and you wouldn't have to sell your DDR2.

best memory for venice is low latency stuff, mushkin extreme black would do the job nicely as it runs at CAS2, corsair XMS is also another good option, avoid ballistix though since the failure rate is quite high. as well the 7600GT is good card, you won't be disappointed :)

GSkill ZX and the OCZ low latency modules are good too, just get whichever you can find the cheapest :)

yeah OCZ are god, brilliant clockers too, i found mushkin extreme black just about the best memory i could buy for my mate with some review reading, 2 2 2 latency as well which is better than most

I'm about to upgrade my memory (1GB Dual-Channel Cas2.5 G.Skill) if your interested? I was planning on upgrading to Corsair or Mushkin memory :)
