My new RAM came last night so I now have a total of 6GB available.

Now yes, I know I have OSX86 but I haven't noticed one bit of difference, and that RAM has definitely loaded.

I still get slow downs with lots of tabs, photoshop, flash, design programs in general, and I managed to get the black screen of death by opening a 30,000x30,000 pixel document in Photoshop.

Tempted to leave it back.

Just tried opening all my programs and got the black screen again.. Will have to try memtest or boot into vista.

So you've added another 4GB to the Hackintosh? Your also running and OC'd CPU sure its a memory problem not compatibility?

Figured out that it was being over clocked to in the bios. switch it off and haven't had a problem since. Still don't notice that much a difference though.

Unless youre working with large files >1gb in a program , or youre running Virtual machines, or multi tasking many intensive apps,
then yes, i doubt you would find much difference going from 2 to 6gb...
run some benchmarks, that might make it worth it? :p

Like NickK said, you should probably keep an eye on activity monitor. You get diminishing returns the more RAM you get but even so it should make a difference using big apps.
