I would like to upgrade my RAM from 8 to 16 GB (rig in sig) as I've noticed that I'm occasionally getting near 7GB utilization.
The most cost effective way would be to add another couple of 4GB sticks, so use all 4 slots. What are the performance penalties in doing this?
Would starting fresh with 2x 8GB sticks be better? I'm reluctant to spend too much on DDR3 at this stage though as it won't be re-useable in my next build.
