So I'm looking to upgrade my RAM, I currently have 4gb Corsair Vengance 1600mhz with timings 9-9-9-24.

I was thinking of going to 8gb as I can get 2x2gb (the exact same as what I've already got) for around £25 just to add to what I've got already but then obviously that would be using all 4 slots in my mobo and I've heard some people saying that's bad?

Or you can get 2x4gb of the Vengance for around £45 and I'd just completely replace my RAM with that and sell what I've got now?

Or again could I get the 2x4gb and just add that to my existing RAM so I would have 12gb?
I have no idea if that would be possible, but if it is would 12gb really be worth it?

Sorry for all the questions haha ;)
Cheers :)

It is fine as far as I'm aware to have your 2x2Gb and a 2x4Gb in at the same time as long as the within the RAM banks the RAM is identical ie in one bank you have your 1, 2 GB in one slot and the other 2 Gb in the other and in the second bank you have 1, 4Gb RAM in one slot and the other 4Gb in the other slot then you should be fine.

The only reason I can think of which would be bad if you filled all the motherboard RAM slots up, is if you were planning on overclocking your RAM as this would produce extra heat, there might be other reasons but this is the only one which comes to mind for me.
