I have a P6X558D-E mobo with 6bg of Corsair XMS3 ram. I recently upgraded buying three more sticks of the same for 12gb total.
When I installed the RAM and a new 2TB hard drive the machine wouldn't boot. I took the new RAM out and it booted. Then I put it back in again and it booted. I know it was happy because I got the bip sound.
Machine worked fine for a week then I realised I need to connect my new drive into the ordinary SATA slot since I had it installed into the 6gb/s slot which was actually making it run slower since it used the Marvell connectors.
Anyway when I booted the machine nothing… I didn't even touch the RAM and I always use an earthing strap. I have taken the RAM out put it all back and nothing… I have done RAM upgrades for the last 12 years and never had this am I missing something?
