RAM Upgrade Options

Heya

Just got an old Latitude D600 off the bay, and it comes with 512mb of PC2100 200pin sodimm.

I'm going to whack this up to 2gb given the current prices, but question is.. can i put a higher speed RAM in? PC2700 gives me a lot more options

Also, i've noticed some vendors list Latitude specific Ram. Can i not just use generic Sodimms? Must i used a specific type?

it should work fine providing that mainboard supports 1GB sodimms

Most of the big memory manufacturer websites offer a simple memory compatibility guide.

I have just checked and the answer is the D600 has two slots each will hold 1GB of PC2700 DDR Ram.
