Hi Guys,
Just bought a set of Corsair Vengeance 12GB (3x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Triple Channel Kit (CMZ12GX3M3A1600C9) as I couldn't find another set of CL6 OCZ Reaper PC3-12800 RAM to match what I already have.
I kept my existing OCZ memory installed and it boots completely stable with all 6 banks with my current OC 21x200 = 4200MHZ.
My OCZ Reaper kit is rated at CL6 (6-8-6-24) Timings and the Corsair kit runs at 9-9-9-24 Timings as advertised. I'd like to tighten the timings to get somewhere in between, so far I managed to reach 9-8-7-22 (posts on stock 1.5v DRAM Bus Voltage!) but decreasing any further and I can't post. I've tried increasing DRAM Bus Voltage to 1.6v and the QPI/DRAM is currently at 1.37500v but I still can't get stable, is it safe to increase further?
The OCZ kit runs at 1.65v on the CL6 timings and this new kit runs at 1.5v on CL9.
