Hi ive got an old I5 bundle:

*OVERCLOCKED* Intel Core i5 750 2.66Ghz @ 3.60GHz / Asus P7P55D Intel P55 Motherboard / Corsair XMS3 4GB (2x2GB) PC3-12800C9 1600MHz DDR3 Bundle

I noticed the corsair ram on offer today and was thinking of getting an other 4 gig, however i no that that current setup has been overclocked so would the upgrade result in an increase in performance or not? or do i need to overclock the other 2 ram slots as well? Is it worth it?

Cheers
David

If it's an 'Overclockers pre-clocked bundle' it would probably invalidate your clock warranty (if it's still under warranty) - they wont guarantee that the system will remain stable with all 4 slots filled. And it is a real possibilty that filling all 4 slots may compromise your clock - it may not but it's certainly a possibilty (Filling all 4 slots isn't as problematic as it used to be with clocked systems.)

If your primary use is gaming and light apps use then you will notice little if any performance boost. Windows and apps may seem a bit punchier but other than that there will be very little benefit.

Yeah was a pre built and oced bundle from Overclockers. Yeah i use the system for games mainly, i didnt think it would make a difference particularly LOL Just fancied an upgrade, think ill leave it then. cheers
